Panch Pokhara trek

Panch Pokhara trek : 

There are several panch pokhari in Nepal. I am here mentioning one is the panch pokhari of sindhupalchok. It is the nearest panch pokhari from kathmandu. We can do this trek in 5-7 days. If you are superfast one it could be possible in 4 days too. 

Panch Pokhari means panch means five and pokhari means lake/pond. There are five pokhari/lakes at the altitude of 4200m. It really cool and calm place. It offers the utmost tranquility. We could not see any snowy peaks from the lakes but when we climb the 200-300 m high ridges it offers the view from surya kunda peak to gauri shankar. Indeed jugal himal looks so closed and big too. We still can shishapangma, one of the eight thousand peak.  we can see the best sunrise view from the up ridges and so do it offers the golden dus.  Its a home of some wilderness flower also if we trek in summer. 

Story behind the panch pokhari: 

Over 2300 years before there was a  famous local hunter his name is Bumba Rumba Waiba. He was brave and hunting was his passion.  Once he went for hunting, he didn't find anything near by. He kept hiking up and up upto 4200m. From the far distance he saw some people were planting paddy rice. He himself shocked seeing some people planting paddy rice at the elevation of 4200m, the place where most of the time is covered by snow and very cold. How could it possible. He kept moving forward. There was five girls and one man. Once the man( shiva/Mahadev) saw hunter Waiba, they were all disapper at the spot. From where the five girls ( panch kanya) also disappear.  Suddenly there were five lakes emanated where five girls were disappeared. 

Hunter waiba is the first person to see it. He was shocked and surprised. He suddenly think that there is an existance of God. It should be Mahadev/shiva. It should be shiva and his deities were farming here. When they saw me they all disappears. So I must mark a sacred place and make temple. Then after He roll down one big stone and mark that place as as sacred place . He went hunting with his dog. He took out the bell from dog,s neck and hang in that stone. He prays with Mahadev for safety and prosperity for locals and all beings. 

there are two nnknow secret of this place. First one is lost of pilgrims who goes to panch pokhari. They dig the ground to find the paddy rice which was planted by Magadev and his deities. If anybody can find it, it will be very very auspious thing. It brings the lots of happiness, peace, prosperity and wisdom in family and individually too. another one is there is a couple of swan, They believe it couldn't see by general people. It may seldom appear there but if anybody see it that person is very lucky person. Whatever he wish, everything will be fullfilled. This is a kind of local belief. 

This is a pilgriming place for both Hindu and Buddhist. Lots of people go to worship in this place in bhadra purnima( full moon of august).

Lots of Local tantric shaman,s group visit there worship there and perform the shaman dance and recharge their tantric power. They back being more powerful shaman.  Local believes whatever we wish, once we visit and wiship in this temple/place. Our wish will be fullfilled soon. This is a believe. Once we believe, it will happen in our life.
